Heritage Exhibition Success

The Heritage Exhibition staged as part of the English Heritage Open Days saw the Croydon Salvation Army open it’s doors for four days from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th September.

Photographs, documents, musical instruments and uniforms dating from mid 1800 to the present day, archive multi media presentations, a children’s trail and classic Salvation Army tea room were provided. The exhibition gave visitors an insight into how the activities of the Salvation Army have changed throughout the past 125 years.

Live music was provided by soloists and small groups. The adult and junior choirs and adult and junior brass bands sang and played outside of the hall.

Over one hundred visitors were welcomed during the four days. Many people took advantage of refreshments which were served from the kitchen dressed to look like a Salvation Army emergency vehicle.
