Saturday 22nd September the Young People’s Band and Singing Company played and sang for two hours outside of The Salvation Army’s Worldwide Head Office referred to as it’s International Head Quarters (IHQ) in London. The live music was one of the activities available at IHQ with their participation in Open House London 2012. The free event, celebrating London’s architecture, offers access to more than 750 buildings in the city, allowing people to see areas that are usually closed to the public.
IHQ is in Queen Victoria Street close to St Paul’s Cathedral and on the route between St Paul’s and The Tate Modern in Bankside when using the Millennium Bridge. On Saturday there was a steady stream of tourists using this route who stopped and listened to the musicians and also a number of visitors to the IHQ building taking advantage of the Open House access.
